Adelaide photographer & writer Gary Sauer-Thompson has written a review of Mary Macpherson's book 'Old new World' on his Thought Factory site - see Critical writing about photography. He goes on to make some comparisons between the scenes in Adelaide and Wellington, with regard to photography and critical writing.

Gary dropped into Photospace earlier in 2015, had a chat and bought a couple of NZ photography books. His December 7th post 'Art photography in Wellington is also a good read. "I started photography in 2008 at university because the course did not have an exam at the end of it. In 2011 I started working semi-professionally as a photographer in Wellington's music scene (see Lenscraft.co.nz).

"I learned about the photo agency Demotix in 2013 through Al Jazeera's show Listening Post. A few months later I published my first story with them. Since then I have published over 70 stories though Demotix and have had my photos purchased by news publications around the world including twice by The Guardian. I currently work at Scoop media as a photographer, among other roles."

'On to the Streets' is Olex's first exhibition at Photospace Gallery. It opens on Friday 22nd January at 5pm  and runs till 13th February 2016.
