Tracey Kearns (as Audrey Periot)
'Bedroom Portraits'
Photospace Gallery, 2nd May-3rd June 2014

Bedroom Portraits explores themes of possession and ownership in my own relationship with my partner. I have considered the breakdown of boundaries and the loss of individuality in relationships expressed through the use of double-exposed  photographs of our naked bodies.

Different body parts are overlaid to create the illusion of one transcendent entity. The dominance of one figure over the other in each photograph represents the shifting power balance which exists within every relationship. The works ask the question, when in a long term monogamous relationship, where does one individual begin and the other end?
