"I started photography in 2008 at university because the course did not have an exam at the end of it. In 2011 I started working semi-professionally as a photographer in Wellington's music scene (see Lenscraft.co.nz).

"I learned about the photo agency Demotix in 2013 through Al Jazeera's show Listening Post. A few months later I published my first story with them. Since then I have published over 70 stories though Demotix and have had my photos purchased by news publications around the world including twice by The Guardian. I currently work at Scoop media as a photographer, among other roles."

'On to the Streets' is Olex's first exhibition at Photospace Gallery. It opens on Friday 22nd January at 5pm  and runs till 13th February 2016.
