In her new exhibition 'Movie Clips', Wellington artist and art teacher Christine Szabados works in the classic medium of photo-montage, creating surrealistic juxtapositions of movie scenes and actors with urban landscape, sets and various other background imagery, all appropriated from printed images. Her photo-montages are created in the traditional way, cut and pasted using a scalpel blade and glue, and rephotographed to be printed digitally in their natural proportions. (Scanning images and digital compositing in Photoshop are eschewed.) The super-A3 and A2-sized prints in 'Movie Clips' are $250 and $300 respectively, and are all in limited editions of 5 prints.
