Photographs by Jan Young
11th October - 3rd November 2014
"This exhibition combines black and white portraits from two separate series: Transition (2007/2009) and Women 2011, and continues my exploration into identity.
"From boys on the cusp of adulthood, to women of middle age, all were photographed during a period of change in their lives. Within these groupings are other more subtle connections; those shared between family, photographer and sitter, and location.
"As much as these are an invitation for close scrutiny of the individual image, they are also offered up as acknowledgment of their collectiveness."
